Lavender is a tale of lovers, united by attraction but distressed with the physical and moral limitations imposed on them by their own gender identities; it is their questions that inform their dance, both wild abandon and innate conflict reflect back and forth off of them in the vast empty space while the menstrual divine attempts to guide them back to themselves and to love.

I'll be a man today
chasin' the girls around the lake.
Tomorrow's another day
and I'll be the girl
that all the boys chase.

who says it can't be me?

I'll be a boy for now,
strong as they come
and twice as brave
but after the lights go down
I'll be a girl, the girl of your dreams.

who says it can't be me?

So, I'll be the child of God,
the one he can never love,
and I'll be the girl you want...

but I'll be the boy you see.

who says I can't be?

who say's it can't be me?

who says I can't
